Lobethal Christmas Lights

Lobethal Christmas LightsLobethal is located in South Australia, about 45 minutes from Adelaide. Every year, Lobethal puts on an amazing display of outdoor Christmas lights with almost every house in the town getting involved. The display is on for the last few weeks in December, and it draws over 250,000 visitors during the time it is on. As well as the lights, in recent years local businesses and council have started to offer stalls and other attractions, open till late.

Lot’s of people drive around the town, and there are several designated ‘circuits’ that you can follow to make sure you see all the best displays. However there is a lot to be said for rugging up and walking so you can linger here and there – although be warned, some parts of Lobethal can be a little hilly!

If you’d like to find out more about this festival, the details are on their website - whether you are a native or a tourist to the area this display is worth checking out. We have made it a family ritual for years and years!

I used to go and see the Lobethal Christmas lights when I lived in SA and they were beautiful. Now I am back in the Uk I get my light fix from a small village in Staffordshire. You shoul google the village of Haughton and add “Christmas lights” and you will see what I mean…
    Best wishes jane x
